Vision
The goal of the GCD Up Conference is to facilitate shared experiences between consortium schools, providing the GCD community an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and create. Through shared stories and intercultural exchange, the conference encourages global understanding and enhances our mission to become a community of changemakers.

Each year, the planning process for GCD Up will be driven by students at the host institution in collaboration with their adult GCD team. The team developing the conference itinerary and associated logistics should follow the guidance listed in this playbook.
Intinerary
The GCD Up itinerary will always include:
​
  • Time allotted for shared storytelling
  • Place-based engagement, including opportunities to connect with both human and non-human members of the local community
  • Opportunities for student leadership
  • Interschool cohort activities to strengthen relationships
  • Time allotted for daily school debriefs
  • Reflection on the local impact which the host school provides context
    ​
Intended Outcomes
All schools, including the host institution, should complete pre- and post-surveys and engage in shared and individual reflection designed to capture growth in the following domains:

  • Network of Connections
  • Reflective Practice
