What Does Advanced Academics Mean?
A global citizen actively engages in and performs at the highest academic level in one subject area or across multiple disciplines.

What You Need To Do:
Define your advanced accomplishment in terms of a pattern of growth, depth of engagement, and/or problem-solving ability in either a specific discipline or across a breadth of studies.

Will My Reflection Be Approved?
Demonstrate and provide evidence of sustained achievement as an exceptional learner in terms of a pattern of growth, rigour of study, depth of engagement, or problem-solving ability in ONE of the following two:
 

  1. Discipline-specific achievement in one or more areas of the academic curriculum

  2. ​Significant and sustained achievement in breadth of studies

Growth in Advanced Calculus

Listen to Aly's interview as he reflects on his journey through the Advanced Academics element of the GCD. Starting as early as Year 10 by taking AP Calculus and progressing to AA during his IB DP years. He shares his passion for mathematics, discusses the challenge of tackling advanced material at a younger age, and explains how this experience provided valuable exposure to the rigour and structure of the IBDP.
